Resumen

A sustentabilidade é enquadrada nas dimensões ambiental, social, econômica e cultural, que permitem
a transformação do território a ser dirigido. No entanto, a falta de evidências de processos de apropriação de
conhecimentos ancestrais sobre a gestão eficiente da água pelas instituições do país levou as comunidades
rurais dos territórios a se encontrarem em situação de vulnerabilidade e risco de sobrevivência. O objetivo deste
trabalho é realizar uma revisão bibliográfica sobre temas relacionados com os imaginários da água e do
território. A metodologia desenvolvida é baseada em ferramentas cientométricas para analisar os resultados
das consultas feitas nos bancos de dados Scopus, Web of Science e Dimensions. Através da Árvore da Ciência,
os documentos mais importantes foram selecionados para analisar os subtemas relacionados à
sustentabilidade, desenvolvimento local e água. A descoberta mais relevante é a necessidade de uma mudança
de paradigma na gestão da água, onde os aspectos espirituais e cosmogônicos dos Povos Indígenas são
tornados visíveis e incluídos na gestão dos recursos hídricos.
